Shorebird's Community Ambassador program
In a few short years Shorebird has become a trusted partner for Flutter developers worldwide. Helping them to deliver mobile updates over-the-air without the friction of lengthy app store review cycles. Along the way, many of you have shared your expertise and knowledge with the wider Flutter community writing blogs, giving conference talks, answering questions in Discord, and helping your peers ship better Flutter apps. This work has had a direct impact in helping developers discover and adopt Shorebird.
Introducing the Community Ambassador program
We want to recognize these developers with the creation of the Shorebird Community Ambassador program, and today we’re opening up applications. This program celebrates community members who share their experience with Shorebird through blog posts, tutorials, conference talks, workshops, videos, podcasts or in any other format that fits their style. We want ambassadors to create content and advocate for Shorebird in their voice, not ours. Authenticity is the whole point.
Beyond content creation, Community Ambassadors serve as technical experts who support other developers, answer questions in the Discord, and create a welcoming environment for everyone learning Shorebird and Flutter.
Ambassadors will focus on one or more of the following:
- Creating technical content
- Speaking at meetups, conferences, and community events
- Organizing or supporting local Flutter and Shorebird gatherings
- Mentoring developers who are new to over-the-air updates or Flutter
- Sharing feedback from their region with the Shorebird team
Being a community ambassador comes with several perks and benefits including conference support, discount codes, early access to features and roadmap, and swag.
Who we’re looking for
We’re looking for Flutter developers with hands-on Shorebird experience and genuine enthusiasm to help others succeed. You don’t need to be a senior engineer or have massive social followings. What matters is a passion to teach and share your experiences.
Shorebird is used by developers around the world and this program is open to all applicants. That said, our largest user bases are in India, Brazil, and Indonesia with Japan and Vietnam growing rapidly. We’re especially eager to hear from developers in these regions.
